London is the capital of the UK, but many people still haven’t been. I go to London once per year with my other half, and we love doing different things each time. It’s amazing how you can stay in a different hotel, plan a few different activities, and it’s as if you’re in a whole different place altogether! Here are just some of the things you should do as a couple in London:

See a Show

London has many theatres, and each one has their own unique show for you to see. You can choose between shows like Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Les Miserables, The Lion King, and loads more. There’s a show to suit all tastes so don’t miss out on a trip to the theatre.

The London Eye

The London Eye is something everyone should do at least once. You get to see London from the highest point there is, and have amazing photo opportunities while up in your oval shaped booth. Book it before you travel to get a great deal.

Madame Tussauds

You might not think that looking at waxworks of famous people is your thing, but it’s definitely worth a visit. You can see realistic looking waxworks of all your favourite celebrities, politicians, and even be scared out of your wits by the new ‘scream’ attraction.

Restaurants and Cafes

There’s no shortage of great restaurants and cafes dotted all around London. It can be difficult to decide where to go, but I recommend going to Beirut Nights, who serve the best shisha in London!

Camden Market

Camden market is a must, in fact; I want to do it every time I go! You can get all kinds of amazing street food there, fresh lemonade/orange juice, handmade jewellery, vintage clothes, and all kinds of other trinkets and tidbits. The atmosphere is indescribable, so go on over and see for yourself.

Covent Garden

This area of London is slightly more posh than the others, but if you can set a chunk of your budget aside for it you’ll have a great time. There are some lovely little shops around, some specialising in children’s toys, others specialising in every kind of tea you can imagine. While you’re there, have a bite to eat at one of the classy restaurants. Me and my other half went to a fancy fresh restaurant and ordered burgers and chips – but they were award winning, and definitely the best burger and chips we’d ever eaten!

Although people say it’s too pricey, I’ll definitely be going back next year.

Shopping

London has one world class shopping experience that’s hard to beat. You have all kinds of options, but of course Oxford Street is the place to go if you’re looking to shop until you drop. You have all of your favourite shops there: Topshop, Topman, JD, Miss Selfridge, Pandora, MAC, and not too far away you have Harrods. Even if you don’t plan on buying anything from Harrods, it’s worth a look! You may even spot some celebrities in there as you browse the items.

Have you done anything on this list? Did you enjoy it as much as me? Let me know in the comments!
